Serenity Prayer

평온함을 청하는 기도

God grant me the serenity

To accept the things I cannot change;

Courage to change the thing I can;

And the wisdom to know the difference.

하느님!

내가 바꿀 수 없는 것을

받아들이는 평온함을 주시고

바꿀 수 있는 것을 바꾸는 용기를 주시고

그리고 이를 구별하는 지혜를 허락하소서.

Living one day at a time;

Enjoying one moment at a time;

Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;

하루에 하루씩 살고

 한 순간 순간을 즐기며

역경이 곧 평화로 가는 길임을 받아들이는 것을

허락하소서.

Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is,

Not as I would have it;

Trusting that He will make all things right

If I surrender to His Will;

That I may be reasonably happy in this life

And supremely happy with Him Forever in the next.

내가 원하는 대로 가 아니라,

신께서 이 죄 많은 세상을 있는 그대로

받아들이신 것 같이, 받아들이며

내가 신의 뜻에 항복하면,

신께서 모든 것을 선하게 하실 것을 믿을 것을

허락하시고

이 생애에서 내가 어느 정도 행복할 것이지만

다음 생애에서는 영원히 하나님과 함께

최상의 행복을 누릴 것에 대한 믿음을

허락하소서.
